HOW TO HEAR GOD’S VOICE

The Posture

.

.

Be Humble

Be humble – hungry for God and poor in spirit – when we have God we have everything.

Come to God with humility. Read the word with preparation and prayer and humility.

.

.

Pray and Listen

Our prayer life will be more effective, if we are able to hear something back from God.

Therefore, it is important that we learn not just to speak to God but to hear from Him.

.

.

Obey God

In Jesus Christ, we find the perfect model of obedience. As his disciples, we follow Christ’s example as well as his commands. Our motivation for obedience is love:

John 14:15

HOW TO HEAR GOD’S VOICE

The Practical Application

.

There are many ways in which you can hear God’s voice : 1. Bible 2. Holy Spirit 3. Conviction 4. Through different Circumstances 5. Through Mentors and other Christians

But out of all these ways, the best way to hear from God is through his Word (Scripture)

.

First thing in the morning

Go to his word (Scripture) first thing in the morning. Before you check your phone, social media, or email, just open your bible and spend time with the Lord. God is our priority.

Always have your bible near your nightstand 🙂

.

Read Daily

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matt 4:4)

We need to be fed his word and truth everyday Some of the recommended ways to do this :

1. ODB (Our Daily Bread) App: Gives you a bible reading plan for 1 year. Comes with Daily Devotional.

2. The Bible App (You Version): Has many bible reading plan to choose from. Can easily bookmark verses and highlight / make notes

The Key is consistency. If you miss a day, do not be discouraged, jump back on your plan the day after.

.

.

Meditate

Don’t just read, but meditate. Meditate means chew over and over again… A great way to get started with meditation is to read and highlight the verses that stand out to you, or jumps out at you. Narrow down the highlighted verses to just 1. (That speaks to you the most) Meditate on that verse for a good amount of time.

.

.

Journal & Share

Always put a Date at the top right hand corner and then write down a verse you chose to meditate on. (Try to focus on one single verse per day) After writing down the verse, answer following questions and journal in your notebook. Share with others if you’d like! ❤

1. What does the passage or verse teach about God

2. What does it teach us about the Christian life

3. What should I do now?

4. Prayer to God
